FUTURA SARAJEVO 999 -
electronic music festival

13 - 14th of August in the halls of
"Vaso Miskin Crni"

futura sarajevo

In 1998 the Electronic music festival "FUTURASARAJEVO" was the first event of this kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was held in the half-destroyed dancing hall of "Dom Mladih" in
Sarajevo in August 1998. After two very successful nights with more than 4000 young people from all around Bosnia and Herzegovina the
organizers were motivated to make this festival a yearly event and expand the musical program towards lectures, multimedia and discussion-pannels.

This year's "FUTURA SARAJEVO 999" will take place on the 14th of August in the halls of "Vaso Miskin Crni", a wagon-factory in Sarajevo, which was producing wagons for trains before the war and now is facing its bancrupt because of the collapse of the
bosnian railway traffic system.
"We wish to unify the ideas of youth spirit and energy in the festival together with the message, that the main
condition for real democratization and reconciliation in BiH, is the revitalization of economy in our country, what will offer good possibilties for the future of young people. By inviting artists from all around the world (USA, UK, Germany, Check Republic, Austria) and even Republika Srpska, we want to express the multicultural idea of this festival. The festival should attract all young people who are interested in contemporary musical genres, especially in electronic music and what could be called "electronic culture of the new century". All invited artists will play gratis."
