With lyrics written in a Belgian hotel room, power rhythms and chords synthesized in a Soho New York loft, an early remix by DJ Hell, a recent cover from France's Bob Sinclar, and two decades worth of field-testing on international dance floors, "Who Needs Sleep Tonight" remains Silicon Soul's most recognizable song.  Pioneers of mixing electronic polyrhythms with pop sensibilities in the early 80’s New York music scene, Silicon Soul's signature sound is the product of custom designed synthesizer/ controllers and an analogue modular Moog synthesizer.

With this release Tied and Tickled Trio has slapped the song definitively into the 21st century with its deft re-statement. A straight-ahead house track is skillfully served up by Duque. Silicon Soul themselves contribute the 2004 Insanity Remix to complete the trip of “Who needs sleep tonight” to the 21st century.
