In
1997 Fred Bigot began to sample guitar sounds and started his first
solo project "Electronicat": bits of vocals, guitar stuff
and analogic machines like tr808 drummachine, moog and all kind
of distortion, wah wah, delays used in psychedelic electro punky
music...
Noise Museum released the first solo album: "Electronicat"
in 1998.
At the same time, he started a collaboration with the multi-media
artist Cecile Babiole. They performed several gigs together, combining
low-tech cumputer graphics (crazy moving and dancing spectrum creatures)
and Electronicat's tunes.
In the last three years, he made several albums and 12"'s released
on different labels. He has been staging live shows in different
halls and festivals in Europe, America and Japan:
Knitting factory (New York), Uplink Factory (Tokyo), Fondation Cartier
(Paris), Festival of New Medias (Montreal), Futura (Sarajevo), PhonotaKtiK
(Vienna), Batofar (Paris), Traffo (Budapest), Festival Nouvelles
Scenes (Dijon), , Gulbenkian Fondation (Lisboa), Ultraschall (Munich),
13th Note (Glasgow) and Stop.spot Festival (Linz),...
The latest release of Electronicat on Disko B - `Amour Salé`
- shows Fred Bigot from his kitting side: `slave to the rhythm`
gambling with `amour salé` like electronic music can`t live
without punk. As far as Suicide, Soft Cell and early disco proved,
that attitude works best: in terms of R.O.C.K.
