1969: born in Innsbruck/Austria
1987: finishes school and releases his first record 'Tod der
Cd!', a pamphlet against the Compact Disc as the new media.
1989: living partly in Vienna and Berlin he finishes his electro-accoustic
studies at the Musikhochschule in Vienna and tours all over Europe,
especially in East-bloc-countries, with his new formed duo PLATZLINGER
with Berlin-based drummer Peter Hollinger. Release of new solo-records
and albums with Platzlinger and his Vienna-based rocktrio KÖB.
1989-1994: moves to New York and founds the internationally
renowned rock-group HP ZINKER. They release 5 studioalbums and various
singles and videoclips on different American and English recording
companies (Fire Rec, Matador, Thrill Jockey). Tours all over the US
and Europe. Besides that he gets involved with Filmscoring and music
for theatres as well as acting (full lenght feature 'Deep Up There').
After the release of a Greatest Hits Album in the US he moves to Los
Angeles for further studies of classical Hollywood Filmscoring .
1995, 1996: With the release of HP Zinker's last album 'At
The Mountains Of Madness', which got nominated for a Grammy and won
several prizes for best cover-art, he moves to Hamburg, Germany. There
he starts to plough deeply into the art of electronic music and releases
his first 12"es and albums under new codenames like AURA ANTHROPICA
or SEPERATOR. Also he joins the legendary Hamburg-based group DIE
GOLDENEN ZITRONEN, with whom he records a new album and tours the
European Continent.
1997/98: He moves to Munich. Being more and more involved with
new Electronica, he releases new solorecords on various labels. At
the same time he starts his own studio 'Son Montuno', deejays and
performs in many European clubs, produces not only his own new music
('Fingerfood' - album + cookbook on 'Disko B') and many remixes, but
also the commercially succesful German Rockgroup Tocotronic. Starts
new experimental electronic duo CUBE & SPHERE with Austrian Techno-animal
Gerhard Potuznik (Cheap Records, Vienna). New worldwide releases of
Aura Anthropica and Die Goldenen Zitronen on British and American
labels. New pop project SHINTO with japanese artist/singer CaMi Tokujiro.
Besides lots of live-performances in clubs and at international festivals
he again works in collaboration with artists of all directions on
different meltings of music with theatre, food and videoart.
1999: Launch of his own label THE SEPERATOR SERIES - a subdivision
of German Techno label DISKO B. New albums and 12"s with Cube&Sphere,
Shinto and Seperator. Collaboration with Munich based visual artist
GEORG GAIGL (Recordsleeves, Videoclips, Installations). Performances
in Europe and Japan. |
